Another weekend recap

Well, it's Monday again. And Katelyn is having her morning nap after her yoga class and a little snack. She had her first taste of solids yesterday. Carrots! Not sure if she likes it, but she's trying it out.
A pic of her today after some carrots.

I was a lazy weekend since we had no real plans. But it ended up being a busy weekend anyways.
The weekend consisted of:

  • a trip to the mall to eat at the food court and pick up some fall clothes for the baby. A sweater, corduroy dress, leggings, tights, hat and long sleeve onesies.

Hanging out with daddy on the deck for some fresh air. And sporting her new sweater!
 In her high chair

Kate in her bouncer, trying some moves on dad's board.
  • shopping at David's Tea to pick up some tea for the "tea exchange" that I am participating in. I love receiving snail mail so it was fun to make a little package to be sent to my tea exchange buddy. Hope she loves it and had as much fun as I did! And while we were at the store I had to pick up some new teas for us! We picked up "super chocolate", "forever nuts" and "toasted walnut". The tea of the day was "pumpkin chai" which I sampled and it was yummy! I'll have to pick that up next time.
Pumpkin Chai
  • buying a new lens for the camera, which is primarily for portraits. I don't know much of the details, hubby does, but the photos look great.
  • made some guacamole and hummus for snacking. The hummus was made with sprouted chick peas. Sprouting was one of the things that I missed during my pregnancy. They are always fun to grow!
  • swimming class on Saturday morning. And yes, she cried again. We still can't figure it out since she loves her bath time. We came up with a couple of ideas that it could be, such as, the temperature of the pool (too hot!), time of the class (it's her nap time), noisy or her swimsuit is too tight or possibly pinching at her, or the chlorine is hurting her skin. Hopefully we can figure out what it is.
  • a visit from two dear friends of ours to exchange birthday gifts. It was great seeing them and being able to chat and catch up.
  • loads and loads of laundry. I don't know why there was so much but still working on it today.
  • made a batch of zucchini muffins from a recipe from my baby cakes cook book. I purchased this cookbook a while back but never got a chance to try a recipe. And hubby and I were very disappointed since I was really excited to have some baked goods that were dairy and egg free. But they ended up undercooked though really moist and dense. I will have to try making another batch this week with some adjustments. I know my Naturopathic Doctor (ND) had tried a recipe from this cookbook as well and also had issues. I may have to email her for some hints and tips.

  • made my first batch of baby food. Which was easier than I thought it would be.

Froze the rest in pesto cubes.
After her first taste of solids!
  • some cleaning around the house. But there is still a lot to do.
  • working on a Case Study/Assignment for class that is due today.
  • and catching up on TV shows (90210, Brothers and Sisters, Gossip Girl, Cougar Town and Modern Family) when I was supposed to be working on my assignment.
All in all it was a great weekend and it was nice to relax a bit. Since we'll be on the road again this weekend for Thanksgiving. I love this holiday, like all other holidays because it means food! And I love turkey too! We usually have turkey for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. And we will be able to see all our friends and family. And meet Katelyn's new friend, Hailey.

Have a great week everyone and enjoy the beautiful sunny day!

I cannot believe how big Katelyn is.

I picked up Toasted Walnut too - it's so delicious! I also go to try Pumpkin Chai and it's pretty good.

You had quite a busy weekend...
