It has been some time since I've posted. I have been busy caring for my hubby and baby who both seem to keep catching a cold, getting a few visitors (which is always fun), attending workshops at the Ontario Early Years Centre, planning her first birthday party, going back to school to finish up the last of my classes and of course, some baking (made my first batch of cake pops), sprouting (yea! since I wasn't able to during my pregnancy) and day care searching.
I had spoken with my boss last week and the date for my return to work has been set. Where did the year go??
Well, lots has been going on with Katelyn as well, her two top teeth have poked through her gums but are not fully exposed yet :) She has been moving around alot more and is repeating words and actions all the time. And she has been trying out some new foods too! Most recently was mangoes, papaya, pineapple, goat's milk and mung beans. She wasn't a fan of the papayas and spat them right out. And pineapples, I think there was too much fibre when I gave some chunks to her. But she loved it pureed. As for mangoes, they have to be real ripe and she'll gobble them up!
The past couple of days I' ve been stocking up the freezer with food for Katelyn, she is eating more of our foods and it is helping us eat clean. But just to have more of her foods on hand, I made up some Red Lentil and Sweet Potato Soup, Roasted Cauliflower, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes and her congee with brown and white rice and mung beans.
And I can't believe the weekend has come and went. We spent most our time outside of the house and did some shopping on Saturday. Got a new lunch bag and toy for Katelyn.
And Sunday we hit the One of the Kind Show in Toronto. Definitely lots to see but unfortunately not enough money to shop! :)
Had a great time though catching up with N. and we got some yummy treats from Kiwi Land from her last visit.
Hope you all had a great weekend and Happy Monday!

I like the new layout. It's so spring like.
So did you buy anything at all from the OOAK show?
Thanks Leesh! Well I did buy some black bean dip from the Sabores Latinos booth. It was yummy, I went back to them after I looked through all the booths. And we spend a lot of time tastings in the food area. I loved the shortbread from that company and restrained myself from buying and just kept on sampling :)
Looks like you had fun shopping!
Oooh cake pops! Looks yummy!!!
Cute lunch bag Kate!!!! I saw a doggie one last week. Skiphop right? I can't believe you're going back to work soon! Lil H and I are going to miss you girls and our shopping outings!!!! :)
