Vacation begins...

  • Day 1
    • Last Thursday was my first day of vacation and what can I say, but there is alot to do around the house. Not sure why people were thinking that I would be lost. :) I got up and had breakfast and right away started on the laundry. Which I usually started on Friday nights. And then I finally pulled out my slow cooker out of hiding....My friend stingaling, has been talking so much about using her slow cooker so much and that it was a lifesaver and time saver. And my sis, has been using it as well, and I've read articles that it would help out with meals with kids in the household. So I decided to make the buttered chicken recipe that my sis gave. I started that up and got ready to meet a good colleague and friend for lunch. It was a great lunch and it actually made me go outside and enjoy the weather instead of staying indoors and doing some household stuff. After lunch, I did some groceries. And got home to finish up for dinner before the hubby came home.
  • Good Friday (Holiday)
    • On Friday, we went to mass and then we hit a local restaurant for Fish and Chips...what a great idea, it was yummy!!! And it was another beautiful day! We even had a visitor when we arrived at home who just didn't want to leave our doorstep...

  • Saturday
    • On Saturday we noticed another visitor on our property.  But I wasn't so happy to see this guy. He wasn't scared of us at all and was just wondering around.

    • We did a few things around the house and afterwards we hit the "junction" for some window shopping. We also met up with a good friend of ours for dinner at an Indian resto. I always love fresh cooked naan!  Afterwards we went for gelato, and this stuff was the best I've had...I had hazelnut and crunch caramel. I wasn't able to pick just one flavour (there were too many to choose from) so I had both :) We then went back to ST's place, and we ended up listening to music and going through some old records. It's funny to see old covers...

  • Easter Sunday
    • For Easter, since we had a late night, we went to a later mass. The parking lot was chaotic, but it was Easter. It was another warm day and after mass we went out for dim sum. It was obviously a diiferent holiday for us, since we weren't down in Windsor with our families. But it was still a great day. After lunch we came home and relaxed and enjoyed the warm weather outdoors. And of course made a call to the niece and nephew to see how their Easter was. It made our day to hear the little guy say "Happy Easter Nang and NOng". Nang and Nong are his nicknames for us which are short for "Ninang" and "Ninong" which means godmother and godfather.
Overall it was a good holiday weekend and as always, it ends too quickly. Hope everyone had a great long weekend. And I'm sure there will be more warm weekends to come!

Oh dear. I hope our wild animal friends didn't migrate over to your property and set up house there!
Sounds like you had a great and full weekend! Keep enjoying your time off!
