Reconnect

Over the years, you meet a lot of new faces and sometimes these acquaintances become great friends. There are many types of friendships. There are the ones that you see all the time since they are almost family, friends you see occasionally, and there are friends that you may not see at all. There are friends that you may only talk every couple of months but once you do get chatting it was like there was no time that has passed.

My goal for the next month is to try to RECONNECT with all friends and contacts from the past that I have lost touch with. Sadly, I realize that I do get caught up with the day to day and sometimes forget to just pick up the phone to call someone to say hello.

A very good friend of mine had sent me out an email maybe three months ago, filled with an update with what was going on with her and her daughter's life. She was waiting for her daughter at her dance class so she had a spare moment. A few months has passed and we have only sent out three emails. But even though we live in different cities we were able to see each other more than 4 times. Now with the cold weather it will be tougher to travel but I think we can get to the emails and catch up. It's nice to hear about the little day to day things that we sometimes miss when we catch up at get parties and little functions. So now it is my turn to write an email and I better start.

So for those I have not had contact with in the last few months, expect a phone call or an email from me.

The best kinds of friends are the ones who you can reach out to after what seems like a really long time, and with whom you can pick up as if no time has passed at all. Have fun reconnecting and catching up with all of them!

I need to reconnect with friend too. I have three dinner dates already scheduled for October. I want to squeeze in all my reconnecting dates before winter gets here.

That's a great idea. Before the snow arrives...
